About me
Hi, I'm Amy (she/her)
Your doula, your safe space

Since having my own children, I have always loved talking with and supporting any friends who were pregnant or had young children, even before I knew what a doula was.
Inspired by the positive experience of having a doula at the birth of my second child, I took my doula training with Melanie Schöne in early 2022. I am a member of Doulas in Deutschland e.V..
I love the variety in this work and I am convinced doulas make a big difference in this often overwhelming stage of life.

My background in psychology (BA) and counselling skills means I am well trained in active listening and emotional well-being. I also have 14+ years of valuable experience parenting and running a household.

In 2011 my husband and I moved with our 7 month old baby from the UK to Hanau, Germany. Our second baby was born here in 2015 and in 2019 we all became dual citizens, so we are pretty settled here. But I remember the culture shock and how difficult it was to navigate the health system here, especially as we started with very basic German.
I have since taken several German language courses and am currently at B2/C1 level. I can help you with translation and communication throughout your birth journey.

In my free time I enjoy walks in nature, yoga and the gym, hanging out with my pet rabbit, going to the cinema, and eating Asian food. I am totally obsessed with the K-pop band BTS and I like to pretend I can dance.

Looking forward, I am excited to keep learning from each family I work with as well as continuing my doula education.
